Cliff Scaling in the National Park

This historic hillside village, a picturesque white village in southern Spain, approximately 45 minutes’ drive from Granada, is the inspiring location for this art retreat. Artists of all abilities – including beginners – will discover how to conceive and execute abstract artworks. A portion of the time will be spent in the open air, working on structured activities out in nature. These charcoal drawings and paintings will then be worked on in the workspace, with guests creating a number of interpretive scenes in acrylic paint to be shown in the local community. Participants has exclusive access of the venue, which is centered on an central patio and has a sun terrace with panoramic vistas over the hills. The fee encompasses five days’ painting tuition; all meals; and an excursion to the nearby fortress and additional local sights.

Vegetarian Cooking in the Algarve

This Mediterranean culinary holiday, based at a riverside villa in the central Portuguese region, is draws inspiration from the plant-based cuisine of renowned chefs. Attendees will master the art of selection of small dishes, take part in a hands-on falafel session, perfect brunch dishes such as shakshuka, and make hearty mains such as spicy mushroom ragu and moussaka. The schedule includes trips to the local market and a nearby winery to sample local vintages, along with free time for strolls by the Funcho River, to relax on the terrace or swim in the infinity pool. Street Dance in Buckinghamshire

Hip Hop Don’t Stop is an uplifting, welcoming weekend dance intensive for adults in High Wycombe. The format each day is a party-style group warmup, followed by several hour-and-a-half workshops teaching various urban dance forms, then an 60-minute jam to show off new moves. Dancers are split into levels according to ability and experience, so it is perfect for those who are brand new to street dance, all the way to advanced dancers or instructors. The camp doesn’t include accommodation but there are several places to stay nearby, and it is 23-35 minutes by rail into London.

Sea Shanty Weekend in St Ives

St Ives is the ideal location for a maritime music retreat. Guests will learn historic sailing songs from a folk singer and vocal coach, and have a go at composing original ones. The schedule includes voice exercises, breath control techniques, stagecraft advice and a closing performance. The retreat is held in a rural hotel overlooking St Ives Bay. Full board are provided, including a Cornish cream tea on the first day, breakfast options, lunches to go and evening meals. Grog, unfortunately, is not included. Writing in Greece

Author and lecturer Greg Mosse runs the daily workshops on this authors' getaway. He covers topics including plot, character development, locations and tension, to sending manuscripts to agents. Greg’s wife, the well-known writer Kate Mosse, will participate in events at the beginning and end of the retreat. The retreat is based at a traditional complex in Vamos at the foot of the White mountains – ten private accommodations surround a garden and pool (non-writing partners are welcome to share). On the final evening, aspiring writers celebrate with a concert in the courtyard and a final meal.

Beginners' Beekeeping in Mid Wales

A leading eco-centre near Machynlleth runs a wide range of courses covering eco-living: from wildlife gardening to making pallet furniture. This weekend introduction will help attendees learn the fundamentals of beekeeping, study the life cycle of bees and learn about their ecological importance. It is designed to produce “ecologically mindful beekeepers”. This course is also a opportunity to relax in the centre's carefully maintained woodlands, which are habitat for polecats, otters, dormice, lesser horseshoe bats and rare birds.
